Here's What Medicare Recipients Need to do in November

Last Updated: November 21, 2022
Most seniors are paying a lot per year out of pocket on medical expenses – but Quick Medigap is changing that.
November is the only full month of Medicare’s AEP. It's an important time to make any final decisions so you're not stuck waiting in longer queues the very last week of the enrollment period. Only through an agent can you easily compare plans, lower your premiums, and apply. Don’t miss out on your chance in November to quickly check your rates with no hold times!
How long Is Medicare AEP?
AEP starts October 15th and ends December 7th. Not only is this the best time of the year to re-evaluate your coverage premiums and make a carrier change, for some people this is the only time of the year they can make a change! Did you know most carriers offer identical coverage options but can charge incredibly different premiums? Sticking with the same carrier can also cost you more in the long run because they apply annual rate increase, sometimes as high as 14% per year. Comparing your coverage options every AEP is the single most important way to make sure you have the coverage you need at a rate that fits your budget!
Is it busy in December?
For any changes to go into effect by January 1st, you must re-examine your coverage during the Annual Election Period. The first week of December is a mad scramble for anyone who has waited until the last minute! Call hold times can triple in the last week of AEP, forcing you to wait up to or more than an hour to place your coverage change. Since making a change and saving can be so easy, there is no reason to hold off comparing your Medicare coverage options now!
